This is the set for a 9/11 movie that is being filmed in our neighborhood. It was kind of weird walking by and seeing the missing people posters, flags and memorial candles. Even though it was a movie set, it was certainly sad remembering that time in our history.

Kid Quote 15 - March 29, 2011
I was reading aloud Hansel and Gretel to my class:
me: "Suddenly, Gretel gets ready to push the bi*** (should have read - the witch) into the oven."
class: Ohhhhh!!
me: Oh, that came out by accident.
Kyle: Well, she was acting like one!

Weekend in NY (March 25)
I love weekends in New York!
Friday night we went to a new BBQ joint, Mables, in Brooklyn. It was good and quite inexpensive.
Saturday morning we went to the Union Square Farmers Market, then we decided to head over to Golden Unicorn for Dim Sum. After lunch, we went for a stroll in the Lower East Side, as we were walking around, we discovered Bisous Cous, a macaroon shop. I ate my first ever macaroon and well, it was amazing. I had a dark chocolate ganache macaroon. Mmmmmm.
That evening we went to a wine tasting at a friends house. We tasted wines from San Emilion from France. The wines from San Emilion are balanced and slightly fruity. I enjoyed them. For desert, they had macaroons. I had a caramel macaroon. Mmmmmm.
Party on Sunday for all the March birthdays at the beer store. For desert, they had macaroons, so I ate a pistachio macaroon. Mmmmm.
I have never had a macaroon and I ate three this weekend.

I'm not saying anything...nothing.....after I took the picture, I noticed that she also chewed the back corner of the nightstand. How the heck did she chew the back of the nightstand?

The hubb's job is giving us the privilege of becoming more cultured New Yorkers, especially since we get free tickets to shows. Since we've seen so many shows lately, I realized that I wanted to document the shows that I've seen (which isn't really many).

Weekend in NY (March 18)
I'm sitting here, getting ready to write and I notice a feather floating around. It landed right on the 6 on the keyboard. I hate feathers!
Rob has taken a job with an theatrical advertising company, Spotco, and we decided to celebrate by going to dinner at Ai Fiori, which received 3 stars in The New York Times. The food was amazing, but the service was terrible. It definitely wasn't 3 star, fine dining service, it was so bad that we are writing a letter to complain. They brought the second course as we were putting down our forks from the first course and they brought out the third course as we were still chewing our last bite from the second course. They took the third course away because we complained and they brought it 30 minutes later and it was cold. They then took 30 minutes to bring us desert. It was an expensive dinner and not really worth it.
On Saturday we went to The Counting Room and Berry Park (both in Williamsburg) for a friend's birthday.
The best part of the weekend, was looking out the
window and noticing that my roses are coming back:

As I was getting out of the Roo, I looked down and saw green. I really love spring! From one day to the next you start to notice green popping up all over the place.

Robin Williams plays the Bengal tiger, need I say more?
The New York Times Review for Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo
Every time we go to Time Square I always make Rob stand in front to the
giant billboard that shows you standing in Time Square.
Corny....I know!

I love spring for many reasons:
Warmer temperature...
Trees start to bud...
I see daylight once again during the week...
The first day of daylight savings time and I realize its 7:30pm and the sun is still out...
...and then my alarm goes off the second day of daylight savings time and it is sooooo dark outside and I'm so tired and it takes me
forever to leave the house, which is a good thing because then I get to see
the sunrise.

Teachers, if you want to be take seriously, don't wear apple earrings, shirts that have embroidered books, numbers or apples and fanny packs with materials in them.
This is a teacher that came in for an interview at our school, that had a fanny pack with markers, crayons, post-it notes, index cards, scissors and a first aid kit attached to the outside.

Weekend in NY (March 11)
On Friday, we met friends at Botanica in the East Village, then we walked over to Prune and had an amazing dinner.
The rest of the weekend was chill.
Dinner at home:
Scallops, Rib-eye with Chantrelle Mushrooms,
Mashed Potatoes and a iceberg wedge with

Pics From the Past 5, March 7
This is the aftermath of an amazing tantrum. Yadi, was upset because they were out of P B and J in the cafeteria. She came upstairs, threw herself on the floor, took her glasses and threw them at the wall (luckily they were rubber, because she had already broken a pair a few weeks before). She then started screaming, her shrieks were so loud that people came running down the hall because they thought someone was hurt. She then passed out on the floor and slept for 2 hours in the middle of the classroom floor.

We went to Volta and Pulse art show on Saturday to visit one of Rob's clients, Markus Linnenberink (Rob designed and created the website). We made our way into the city in the morning to The Volta exhibit which was across the street from the Empire State Building. We then started to make our way to Pulse and we stopped at J and J Hat Center, a Haberdashery, where Rob purchased a lovely hat. As we made our way down 5th Avenue we came across the Flatiron Building. It was neat to see two NY landmarks in one day.
